One cold winter morning after a grueling night driving through a Michigan blizzard, I awoke to the sight of my sister’s handwork, a delicate winter scene unfolding upon snowy white linen stretched on a frame by my bed. I was intrigued, and then inspired, and then in love. My first cross stitch efforts were of Danish design using Flower Thread and linen. The rhythmic, satisfyingly ordered stitches brought me, a young mother, such peace. Now, when I am designing, it is the thought of the hands that will stitch my work that bring me that same pleasure and satisfaction. I feel blessed by my connection to those hands and hope the blessing is returned many fold.
