Size 20 is the largest needle with a big eye, Size 28 is a fine, slim needle with a smaller eye.

General guidelines:

Size 16-22 for 11 count and lower

Size 24 for 11 or 14 count

Sizes 26-28 for 14 and higher counts

These aren’t rules, they’re just guidelines, really. Each stitcher has their personal preference.
